These are frames emerging from my childhood memory, or maybe not. Maybe they’re just what I’d like to remember of it.

Cosa rimane (What’s Left) is an ongoing project I started in 2011, when I begun making small trips to Liguria, a region I didn’t know before, nevertheless I instantly loved and chose to be the only place of my shootings. When I first arrived there, I found myself in wonder at the landscape, just like when I was a kid. By looking at my photos, I conceived them as a recollection of happy memories, of a past so long gone, but again so close to me. 

The approach to this work reflects my most intimate nature, the one which aims to explore a narration of the everyday life and to tell a story made of places and of small, sometimes unperceived gestures people perform in them. The urban landscape, the lines, the angles and the subtle details I chose to photograph are all part of my aesthetic vision of reality, of what I feel beauty is and has always been for me.
